Trips and navigation

Run live trips and walk to any point on the map.

Live trips

A trip shows where everyone on it is, live, on the map. Use it for a field party, a site visit or a convoy.

  1. On a project's Satellite map, tap Start a trip.
  2. Decide who can see it: private trips stay with the project's members; public trips can be shared with anyone by link.
  3. People who join appear as dots. Tap a dot for the person's name, role and photo.
  4. End the trip when you are done. The route each person walked is kept on the map as a line. A trip can be started again.
PrivacyYour position is shared with a trip only while you are on it, and only with the people who can see that trip.
  1. Tap a point, line or area on the map and choose Navigate.
  2. Follow the arrow. Bearing and distance (or chainage along a line) update as you walk, and a chime sounds on arrival.
  3. Record your route as you go; it is filed as a line when you stop.

Geofences can announce when you enter a study boundary or a restricted plot. On Android a small floating panel keeps the guidance on screen while you use other apps.
