Open a project and swipe to Satellite. The map can show satellite imagery, OpenStreetMap or topographic tiles, and everything you draw belongs to the project, visible to its members.
Draw features
- Choose what to draw: a point, a line or an area.
- Tap the map to place each vertex, or type coordinates by hand (decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds, or UTM with the zone).
- Vertices snap to features already on the map. Bearings and distances are shown on every leg as you go.
- Finish, then give the feature a name, a group, a colour and any attributes (text, numbers, yes/no, dates or photos).
Corner beacons are labelled automatically, with the angle and length of each leg. Move a vertex and every measurement updates.
The toolkit
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Subdivide | Cut an area into plots by count, by exact area (the remainder is flagged) or as a grid, or divide a line by count or distance. |
| Split | Divide parcels along a line you draw or an existing line, for excisions and mergers. |
| Add points | Peg a line or boundary at a chainage interval that carries round corners. |
| Offset | Set a parallel line out either side of a centreline, for road reserves and setbacks. |
| Reorganise | Rename, recolour and re-file whole groups of features at once. |
| Navigate | Walk to a point or along a line with live bearing and chainage. See Trips and navigation. |
Import and export
Import CSV, TXT, DXF, Shapefile (or a zipped set), KML, KMZ and GeoJSON, or the responses of a project form. Choose the coordinate system the file is in, check the preview, then save.
Export Shapefile, CAD/DXF (one layer per group), KML (colours kept) or coordinate lists, in WGS84, UTM, a Minna belt or a projection you name.
Print plans
- Open the layout for a group of features.
- Choose the paper size, orientation, frame and coordinate system.
- Place the scale bar, north arrow, title and text. Leg tables are generated from the drawing.
- Export the plan as a PDF. Plans are kept with the project to be reprinted later.
