Privacy notice
What we collect when you use FieldOps and this website, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 16 October 2026.
What we collect
Your account
Your phone number (used to sign you in), the name, username and photo you choose, and, if you add them, your position and email address.
What you put into the app
Projects, timeline posts, comments, photographs, video, voice notes, documents, pages, form responses, map features, messages, status updates and call recordings. This content is visible to the people you share it with: the members of a project or group, or the people in a conversation.
Location
Your location is used on the map and stored when you submit a form response (its GPS stamp), record a route, or take part in a live trip. During a trip your position is shared with the people who can see that trip, only while the trip is running and you are on it.
Calls
Calls connect directly between devices where possible. When you turn on captions or translation, call audio is sent to our speech service to be transcribed and translated, and is not kept by it afterwards. When someone records a call, the recording and its transcript are stored in the conversation.
Contacts
If you allow it, the phone numbers in your address book are compared, on your phone, with FieldOps accounts so you can see who is already here. Your address book is not uploaded.
Device and diagnostics
A notification token so we can deliver messages and calls to your device, and crash reports that help us fix problems.
This website
When you use the contact form we keep your name, email address, any organisation and phone number you give, your message, and a one-way hash of your connection address used only to limit abuse. The website uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To provide the app: sign-in, syncing your work, delivering messages, calls and notifications.
- To answer you: replies to enquiries and to problems you report.
- To keep the service safe and working: preventing abuse and fixing faults.
- To bill subscriptions, where a paid plan applies.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, or to delete your account, through the contact form. You may also have rights under the data protection law that applies to you, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

FieldOps is meant for work and study, and is not directed at children under 13.
