Messages and calls

Chats, voice notes, calls, captions and recordings.

Conversations

Open the Messages tab and tap the new-message button to see your contacts who use FieldOps.

  • Tap a person to open a chat with them.
  • Select several people to start a group, a group call, or a broadcast (one message delivered to each person privately).

In a chat you can send text, photos, video, files, contacts, your location and voice notes, reply to or edit a message, and search the conversation.

Voice notes

Tap the microphone to start recording. You can pause and carry on in the same note, then send it. Voice notes play with a waveform and adjustable speed, and you can ask for a transcript to read a note instead of playing it.

Status updates

Share a photo, video, voice or text status with your contacts for 24 hours. Reply to a status privately by swiping up.

Voice and video calls

Call from a chat or from the Calls tab. Several people can be called together, and more can be invited while a call is under way.

Live captions and translation

During a call, tap Captions to read what the other person is saying as they speak, and Translate to have it translated into your language. Useful on a noisy site or for a mixed-language team.

Recording a call

Tap Record during a call. Both sides of the conversation are recorded. When the call ends, the recording is filed in the chat with a transcript showing who said what.

Tell people firstAlways let everyone on the call know you are recording, and follow the law where you are. Some places need everyone's consent.
